Why I use a Food Dehydrator

Several years ago I found about the tremendous health benefits of raw foods. I perused you tube and discovered how many people were recovering their bodies from illness including – cancer and obesity, by utilizing raw foods. One of the ways to make raw foods is to use a food dehydrator.

With a food dehydrator you can make raw breads. As long as the bread is heated below 115 degrees, the food is still raw. This is because the enzymes and nutrients in the food are not cooked out of the bread. Having a food dehydrator can help you make delicious raw foods.

When looking for a food dehydrator you will want to get the best. That is because if you get a cheap food dehydrator it will not cook your foods evenly. For instance, if you dehydrate raw bananas, if you use a cheap dehydrator, the bananas will dehydrate at different times and you will not be able to get the consistency that you would get with a good dehydrator. You want all your dehydrated banana pieces to dehydrate at the same time and level – so they come out delicious.

The best food dehydrator, by miles is the Sedona Dehydrator by Tribest. The reason why this dehydrator is the best is because you can digitally control the temperature to get more accurate temperature in the dehydrator. The Sedona is a new item and doesn’t have as many testimonials as Excalibur but it’s shaping up to be a very tough competitor to Excalibur.

The Excalibur dehydrator has been the winner of being the most appreciated dehydrator up until now. The Excalibur does not have a digital temperature control system, although most people do recommend this dehydrator.

Another good way to improve your health is by juicing fresh vegetables and fruits daily. There are many people that have started juicing for health and weight loss and have recovered their bodies from diseases such as cancer.  People have also lost over one hundred pounds through juicing. Buying a dehydrator and a juicer is a good combination to jump start your health regimen.

I’ve been enjoying my food dehydrator. I recently have been dehydrating organic chicken. I’m doing this not for myself, but for my dog. Scientists are saying that the chance of an electrical outage and a long term grid power down is highly likely to happen. I want to make sure that in case the grid does go down, i have food for my dog for several months to a year. I am buying large amounts of organic chicken from Costco and then dehydrating it. It is very easy. You just cook the chicken and then cut into small pieces and then dehydrate it for 3 hours. My dog is a very very finicky eater and is not like other dogs. She is a snob and a princess. She will reject steak if it is not organic.

So i did the test with my dehydrated chicken. Will she eat it? I re-hydrated the chicken in chicken stock and water for several hours. This puffed up the chicken. I then cooked it in the oven. I’m happy to say that my dehydrated chicken passed the test. My dog ate it and enjoyed it. Believe me i can tell when my dog is unhappy and she was very happy after eating this. I tasted a little of the dehydrated chicken and could tell that it would taste fine if made into a dish with rice.
